Hawkeye to have active role in Civil War

Captain America Civil War is set to kick off Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and to say it is packed with superheroes would be an understatement. The cast for this film is huge.

Confirmed so far are: Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, The Vision, Spiderman, The Winter Soldier, War Machine, Ant-Man, Cross-Bones, Sharon Carter/Agent 13, Black Panther, Helmut Zemo, and Martin Freeman has been cast in an unspecified role.

That’s a pretty strong roster of characters confirmed so far, and there still might be more to be announced. In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Jeremy Renner aka Hawkeye discussed the role he has in the movie, this is what he has to say:

“Yeah, yeah. It’s more active,” Renner told Screen Rant. “A lot of fun stuff happening in that one. I can’t speak too much for it. They’re still filming that sucker right now. But yeah, there’s a lot of stuff happening in that one physically for me anyway. Then who knows in the future? I don’t know what’s going to happen.”

So Hawkeye is going to have an active role in the movie, which means we won’t see him taking a back seat, he will more than likely be on the front line fighting the battle that pits Cap against Iron Man. Captain America Civil War is due out May 6th 2016 and picks up where Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

We can’t wait to see it.
