New List Of Backward Compatible Xbox 360 Titles Revealed This Week

There was unbridled joy among Xbox owners at E3 when Microsoft announced they would be making the Xbox One compatible with Xbox 360 games.

This will gleefully give a new lease of life to old 360 games which no doubt are sitting in corners gathering dust, some may even be old enough to not even warrant a trade in.

Well, it seems now that we are very close to finding out some more titles that will be available on the backwards compatibility program that will be available to Xbox Live Gold members (there’s always a catch, isn’t there?!) this winter.

According to Xbox head Phil Spencer we will see a new list of games announced this week. Whether this is an all in one data dump of every title that will be available at launch or a trickle of titles between now and November is unknown. We have been promised over 100 BC games for the Xbox One available once the feature goes live for everyone, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and find out which ones in due course!

You might be thinking that backwards compatibility will spell the end of game remakes such as Halo: Masterchief Collection or the remakes of the Uncharted  games for PS4 but don’t be fooled. The function will be down to the discretion of the publisher whether to make the game backwards compatible or not. So should a developer want to fully remake a game rather than release backwards compatibility, they will have every right to do so.
