Is A Green Lantern Coming To The Arrow-verse?

The existence of at least some of the Green Lantern mythos has been heavily teased in both Arrow and The Flash with hints or Ferris Air and missing pilots, but will we see a member of the Green Lantern Corps come to the Arrow-verse this season?

Thanks to a massive tease dropped by Arrow exec Marc Guggenheim, we now know that Team Arrow will at the very least be visiting the home of Green Lantern Hal Jordan in some capacity this coming season, Coast City. Coast City has been teased several times before, as was Central City before The Flash was even confirmed and Blüdhaven, home of Nightwing has been name dropped too. So the appearance of Coast City was always going to be a possibility, but that’s not the biggest tease.

Any DC/Green Lantern fan will spot the play on the famous Lantern oath straight off the bat. If that’s not a sign of what’s to come then Guggenheim is really playing with the emotions of the fans (and us!).

However, the biggest issue stopping a Lantern showing up in Arrow is the DC Cinematic Universe. Green Lantern Corps will be coming to our screens in 2020 and this could potentially make this no more than a piece of fan service promo art. So a Green Lantern appearing among the Green Arrow, The Flash, Black Canary, The Atom & Hawkgirl really depends on DC’s plans are for the Corps. Remember what happened that Harley Quinn cameo and the Suicide Squad?

Presumably, Hal Jordan and John Stewart will be off the table to the Arrow showrunners and will be the headliners of the movie, but there have been plenty of Lanterns. There’s still Alan Scott, Guy Gardner, Simon Baz and Kyle Rayner. DC would surely lend one of these to the CW show in order to bring the cosmic along with the mystic and supernatural to the world of Arrow?

Alternatively, Coast City may be the base of operations for Damien Darhk and H.I.V.E but I guess we’ll have to wait until October 7th to find out!
