Unless you lived under a rock last summer you would either have heard of or taken part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
For those who don’t know what ALS or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is, it is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. The Ice Bucket Challenge seen millions of people, celebrities included dumping buckets of ice water over their heads, while nominating others to do so, and donating money to ALS research.
The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge helped raise money to fund research which could lead to eventually finding a cure for the disease. The craze last summer swept across the internet and seen many celebrities taking part. You can check out some of them in the video below.
One celebrity has decided to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge again, and that celebrity is Hugh Jackman aka Wolverine. Dressed in a shirt & bow tie and sitting in a bath tub, Jackman gives himself a chilly experience. Check it out below:
While he did take part in it last year, Hugh Jackman took it upon himself to do another one a year later. Could this see the Ice Bucket Challenge come back? Or could this just be a once off resurgence? The 2014 Ice Bucket Challenge generated more than $200 million in global donations which is quite an impressive number.
