With Disney all smiles with mega franchises like Star Wars and the very cool MCU, speculation has begun over at Universal headquarters that a very monstrous plan may be – a brewing!Earlier this week, it has been confirmed that mega star Tom Cruise will play the lead role ahead of The Mummy reboot that will be set in the present day. Along with this confirmed news, the reboot has also got a fresh release date – set for June 9 2017, instead of the previously intended March 24 release of the same year!
With Cruise on board and now, Kingsman: The Secret Service‘s Sofia Boutella playing the classic monster, rumors have set foot of a possible Avenger like status being formed in the near future!
What exactly does this mean though? We reckon it could see some reboots in the present day of the classic Universal movies monsters getting a stand alone at first, then meeting down the line for an all out battle in one film run-time i.e, what we like to call The Avenger Status. What is also cool to think about is the fact that they can get a mega star like Cruise to play his part in The Mummy, and also maybe (hope) that he reprise whatever role through the (rumored) monster universe!
Finally, what is even more exciting, and if these reboots are true, imagine who they can get for them? Chris Pratt maybe? Or even dare I say Harrison Ford!
Anyway, we want to know what you think! Let us know in the comments! Nerd out!
