Ben Affleck Working On Something With DC Legend Geoff Johns!

If you loved Ben Affleck as Batman in Batman v Superman and want to see more, then it may be time to get very excited. Very excited.

Speaking to DC All Access, Ben Affleck revealed that he is working on something with DC Comics legend and Chief Creative Office Geoff Johns. Rumours were abound that Batfleck would be directing himself in a Batman solo movie written by Geoff Johns but nothing was ever confirmed. Now, Affleck has confirmed that he is at least working on something with Johns:

“Geoff Johns is a brilliant guy. I consider him to be the most valued resource on all things comic book, and every time I like something in the comic I always mention it he goes, ‘oh yeah, I wrote that.’ Now I just think he’s bulls******* me and he says he wrote everything. You know, he and I are working together on something and I really am excited about it, and I love him, he’s the best.”

We don’t think we’re jumping the gun in saying that Ben Affleck is the best Bruce Wayne we have gotten and may well be the best Batman ever. His performance in both roles was absolutely stellar and while there are many who lamented his brutality (we’ll address this in another post) you cannot argue that he was one of the defining features of Batman v Superman.

If Affleck and Geoff Johns are working on a Batman solo movie/trilogy than this is something to be very excited for. Johns’ knowledge of the source material cannot be doubted, seen as he was the creator of some of the greatest DC stories. Affleck has cut his directing chops with Argo & The Town and is currently in production Live By Night so it is not a farfetched suggestion for him to direct along with starring in the lead role.

Perhaps now with Batman v Superman in the public domain and a very positive reaction to Affleck overall, Warner Bros will now look at giving us an official announcement on the future of Batman.
