Scooby-Doo Reboot Set To Launch Hanna-Barbera Shared Universe!

Shared Universes are all the rage in Hollywood these days with every studio looking to get in on the act. We’re looking at you Marvel.

Now, Warner Bros. are set to add another shared universe to their books by launching one involving the classic Hanna-Barbera properties. This will start in 2018 with a brand new Scooby Doo movie titled S.C.O.O.B. Them meddlin’ kids and that damned dog will be back to foil the plans of scheming no-gooders posing as supernatural entities and local urban legends.

If a Hanna-Barbera shared universe is to go ahead it would also mean fresh starts for The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Top Cat, Captain Caveman, Wacky Races, Hong Kong Phooey and many more! Admittedly, crossovers between many of these properties make no sense at the best of times but the Hanna-Barbera cartoons were arguably the original shared universe. The Flintstones met The Jetsons, Scooby’s Laff-A-Lympics featured Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, Hong Kong Phooey and Scooby himself along with many other crossovers throughout the years. Heck, Scooby & the gang even solved mysteries with Batman & Robin and the Harlem Globetrotters!

In order to get the inner workings of this shared universe right, Warner Bros have put together a ‘think tank’ that will be headed up by Chris Miller & Phil Lord. You might call Warner Bros crazy, but this pair did manage to turn the LEGO Movie into a classic and spun a LEGO Batman movie off of it as well along with whatever LEGO projects (Ninjago & Duplo have been rumoured!) Warners have planned next. As mentioned previously, many of these properties crossed over at a whim anyway and we’re very excited to see what they come up with! YABBA DABBA DOO!

S.C.O.O.B is scheduled for release on September 21st 2018.
