While we all know that a live action version of Beauty and the Beast is on the way next year, and its judging by trailer views it is going to be a huge hit, we can’t forget the classic animated version of the film that wowed audiences all the way back 1991. Arguably one of the best Disney movies every to be released, it is set to be re-released on Blu-Ray this year.
The film will be re-released on Blu-Ray and Digital HD packed full of loads of extra’s which you can check out below:
- Alan Menken & Friends: A Tribute
- Always Belle…
- #1047: Walt, Fairy Tales & Beauty and the Beast
- The Recording Sessions
- 25 Fun Facts About Beauty and the Beast
- Plus with your Digital Copy:
- Work-In-Progress / PIP Version

- Hours of Classic Bonus
If all those extra’s don’t sound fantastic, the Blu-Ray re-release of the film will contain 4 versions of the film (because one isn’t enough) which will include, the Original Theatrical Version, the “Human Again” Branched Version and the Theatrical Sing-Along Song Version, along with another version of the film. Disney have also released a trailer and synopsis for the re-release.
One of the most acclaimed and treasured animated films of all time is about to sweep you off your feet. Follow the adventures of Belle, a bright young woman who finds herself in the castle of a prince who’s been turned into a mysterious beast. With the help of the castle’s enchanted staff, Belle soon learns the most important lesson of all, that true beauty comes from within. An all-new digital restoration makes the feature more magical than ever. Be our guest and let the music you’ll never forget and the characters who will fill your heart cast a shimmering spell like never before.
Is anyone else excited? We certainly are, and we would be lying if we said some of us won’t be picking this up again (yep you read that correctly, some of us already have a copy of the film) it is such a good film, and it should be in everyone’s Blu-Ray collection.
It is scheduled for Digital HD release on September 6th followed by the Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack on September 20th.
