Tom Hiddleston Teases Return as Loki in Thor:Ragnarok!

Thor: Ragnarok is set to wrap of the Thor trilogy within the Marvel Cinematic Universe and help further the plot building within the MCU of the Infinity Stones and Thanos which will wrap up phase 3. Plenty of characters are returning for Thor: Ragnarok, but there was one key name missing…. until now.

It was uncertain for a good while whether Tom Hiddleston would return as Loki for the 3rd film, and he was unsure if he would be playing the character again. Well Hiddleston himself has both teased and seemingly confirmed that he will be returning through his first ever instagram picture. He posted a picture of himself in a wig and Loki costume on set of Thor: Ragnarok.

He's back!

This is set to be Hiddleston’s fourth time portraying Loki Laufeyson, he made his debut as the character in Thor, he then returned to plague Earth’s mightiest heroes in Marvel’s The Avengers, and reprising the role once more in Thor: The Dark World. His last outing ended with his brother Thor,  presuming  was Loki dead when in fact he had somehow replaced Odin as ruler of Agard, using a glamor to appear as the All-father.

RAGNAROK

We here at Nerd Lowdown are delighted to hear that the God of mischief will be returning for the 3rd movie (we’ll just take it as Hiddleston confirming it… we want to believe its true), he has been such an integeral part of the MCU since the first Thor movie that it wouldn’t feel right to leave him out of the 3rd film especially considering how big of an impact it is going to have on the MCU.

Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi,  from a screenplay by Stephany Folsom, and stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Karl Urban as Skurge and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk.

Thor: Ragnarok is set for release on November 17th 2017.
