We know that Avengers: Infinity War is going to be a huge movie, the cast is said to have up 68 characters in it, so Marvel have their hand full filling that massive cast list. There has been nothing but speculation as to who would appear in the movie and who wouldn’t… well a certain Groot-ish character has confirmed a few of the characters that will appear in the film.
During a recent Facebook live chat – Vin Diesel, aka Groot from the Guardians of the Galaxy opened the cans of worms that people were hoping would be opened, he confirmed that the Guardians will be appearing in Avengers: Infinity War.
“Next year you’ve got Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 coming and that whole concept started from you all saying ‘when are you gonna be in a Marvel movie?’ And you remember the first picture after that Marvel meeting that I had where I was standing [with] the Avengers thing in the back – some of you can look up that picture…there was this old Avengers copy that was behind me in that picture if you look back on my Facebook page you can find that.
What’s gonna be surreal is that picture is going to come to pass because now the Guardians will be included in Avengers: Infinity War and that’s incredibly exciting. Incredibly exciting. Incredibly exciting and something that if you were a part of our page you knew before everybody.”
We already knew that Starlord would be involved in the film, the Russo brothers confirmed that at a press event a couple of months back. It was only a matter of time that the rest of the Guardians would be confirmed or involved in some way. Given how big the Guardians film itself was, and how much people loved the characters, it would be shame to included Starlord and not include the rest of the cast. Plus to fill out the cast to the 68 characters that are said to be in the film and given the magnitude of the two Avengers sequels, Marvel are going to need some big names to include in the film, and the Guardians are just that.
We here at Nerd Lowdown are pretty excited about the inclusion of the Guardians and are stoked to see the Infinity War story play out on a big screen. The two Avengers sequels recently started production in Atlanta and are set for release in May of 2018 and May 2019.
