After Tom Holland’s fantastic performance as Spiderman in Captain America Civil War this year, the world is eagerly awaiting the release of Spiderman: Home Coming. People can’t get enough of the wall-crawler, and rightly so, his performance was fantastic.
We’ve already been swamped with information in regards to casting in the movie, as well as the films main villains, The Vulture who will be played by Michael Keaton, and Herman Schultz aka Shocker who will be played by Riddick and Fargo actor, Bokeem Woodbine. We have seen concept art of The Vulture and the look they are going for in the film, and today we have been given our first look at Shocker.
He looks extremely similar to his look in the comics. In the comics Shultz is a criminal that uses his talents as an inventor and an engineer to build a pair of gauntlets, activated with a pump-action thumb trigger, that create seismic disruptions. The vibrations can be very intense, so he wears a heavily insulated costume which has yellow quilt patches that absorbs the shock. It is great to see his look resemble the comic so closely and not have Marvel out and out put their own spin on it.
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
The cast features Tom Holland (In the Heart of the Sea), Michael Keaton (Batman, Birdman), Zendaya (K.C. Undercover), Donald Glover (The Martian, Community), Jacob Batalon (North Woods), Laura Harrier (One Life to Live), Tony Revolori (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Tyne Daly (Cagney and Lacey), Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo), with Marisa Tomei (My Cousin Vinny, The Wrestler), and Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man, The Avengers). It also includes Martin Starr (Silicon Valley), Kenneth Choi (The People vs. O.J. Simpson), Michael Mando (Better Call Saul), Selenis Leyva (Orange is the New Black), Isabella Amara (The Boss), Jorge Lendeborg, Jr. (Graceland), JJ Totah (Liv and Maddie), and Hannibal Buress (30 Rock).
Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released on July 7, 2017. We can’t wait for it.
