Things have gotten better for Marvel fans in the UK and Ireland, as we all know, we are slated to get Marvel‘s next movie Doctor Strange on October 28th, while the US premiere is November 4th. Well guess what? We are getting it earlier than that…
Yes you read that correctly, we are getting Doctor Strange even earlier than the US, a whole 10 days earlier to be exact. Not only did Marvel UK and Ireland’s twitter page break the news that the UK and Irish release date was being brought forward to the Tuesday October 25th, they also released a new poster for the film which you can check out below.
Many films will release in the US first… lets be frank, like 85% of films release in the US first. This is in order to generate buzz and hype around the film due to Americans attending the cinema more than the majority of these in other countries. The studios may view it going down well with American audiences as a form of global advertisement before rolling it out to the rest of the world. Marvel do things the opposite way, they release their films in Europe first before releasing them to an American audience. We aren’t exactly sure why but we certainly aren’t going to complain considering we get the films first.
Marvel’s Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilizing a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe
Doctor Strange will hit cinemas in the UK and Ireland on October 25th, and cinemas in the US on November 4th.
