S.H.I.E.L.D. Will Return To The MCU According To Samuel L. Jackson.

Nick Fury has been MIA in the MCU since Captain America: The Winter Solider and the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. with the exception of a brief appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron nobody has seen or heard much from Nick Fury. Samuel L. Jackson, the man behind the eye patch believes we will see him in the MCU again.

The actor said in a recent interview that he thinks there is still a place for S.H.I.E.L.D. in the MCU. When he was asked his thoughts on it, this is what he had to say: “Yeah! For sure, definitely, why wouldn’t there be? There’s some way of fixing what they created, and hopefully somebody has that going on or Nick Fury is out there — wherever he is, probably hanging out with Jules and walking the world — figuring out what happened and how it got to that particular place.”

Jackson also when to say that he thinks Marvel Studios will bring him back into the MCU at some point. He said they will “bring me back somehow, some way, for some reason.I mean, they didn’t have me around to referee the kids when they didn’t go to their rooms and got in this big old fight. We’ll see what happens.”

Nick Fury was notably absent from Captain America: Civil War and that was done intentionally by the writers to keep Fury from picking sides. Christopher Markus one of the films writers recently said in an interview that they kept Fury away  to “Let the parent go away, and see if the kids can handle this. See if the kids can be who they’re supposed to be without that governing voice. Um…and they didn’t do that good of a job.”.

That is certainly one reason for keeping Fury out of the film, another reason may be the fact that the film had enough characters in as it was without the inclusion of Fury. While there is no official word when Fury will return to the MCU, but with Avenger: Infinity War and it’s sequel set to be jam packed with characters one could put a safe bet on that being the be the next time we see Nick Fury in the MCU.
