Avengers: Infinity War is shaping up with a huge movie, not only in terms of story and the affect it could have on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but also because of the huge cast and roster of characters it will have. The film is set to include a total of 67 superhero/key characters from the MCU and some of them have been confirmed over the past few weeks.
The Avengers themselves have been confirmed, we know the Guardians of the Galaxy will be joining the mix and it has been rumored that some of the MCU’s villains from previous movies will be returning. One name that has been floating around and fans were worried that he would not be included is Tom Holland’s Spider-Man as Marvel Studios haven’t mentioned anything about his inclusion in the movie.
The actor himself has seemingly confirmed his own inclusion in the film, the actor recently spoke with Italian Magazine L’Uomo Vogue where he confirmed he would be in the film. The Tom Holland Italia twitter page posted pictures of the article which has only been published in print for now, in the third column Holland talks about how Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans convinced Marvel producers that he would be able to hold his own in 3 movies which have been set to come out over the next 4 years.
The three movies Holland was referring to were Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Avengers: Infinity War. The quote in which Holland confirms this has been translate online and reads as follows:
“The approval for the role in Spider-Man arrives personally also by Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans ‘They who convinced the Marvel: the producers wanted to be sure that I was the right person before entrusting three films over the next four years, including Avengers: Infinity War. ‘”
So Spider-Man has confirmed he will be involved in the biggest movie Marvel studios will have released, a film they have been building towards even since the first Iron Man came out all the way back in 2008. How Spider-Man will factor into the film is a good a guess as any, as the film has such a stacked cast and with the Avengers needing as much help as possible against Thanos it will be great to see the addition of Spider-Man to the cast.
Now, if it could just hurry up and be 2018 it would be great as we really want to see how it all plays out.
Avengers: Infinity War is set to land in cinemas on May 4, 2018.
