BREAKING: Jude Law To Play Young Dumbledore In Fantastic Beasts Sequel!

Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them came out last year to many plaudits from Harry Potter fans & muggles alike!

With sequels planned, it so turned out that the story will follow the great wizarding war that occurred around the same time that World War 2 did in the world of Muggles. This is a plot that exists in the canon of Harry Potter and the villain of this war was also the villain of Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them – Grindelwald. So with the introduction of wizard Hitler, Harry Potter fans would have been well aware that this meant the inevitable introduction of another core Harry Potter icon whose history is tied firmly to Grindelwald’s. Albus Dumbledore.

According to Variety, the man who will be entrusted with playing young Dumbledore is none other than JUDE LAW! He will star opposite Johnny Depp who has been entrusted with the role of Grindelwald.

“As fans ourselves, we are thrilled to have Jude Law joining the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ cast, playing a character so universally adored. Jude has been a member of the Warner Bros. family for years and we’re excited to embark on this new adventure with him.” stated Toby Emmerich, president and chief content officer of Warner Bros to Variety.

Of course, Fantastic Beasts is set long before Harry Potter’s time at Hogwarts and Dumbledore was a very different person back then than he was during Harry’s time. It is often said that he and Grindelwald had very similar aims for the wizarding world, however their methods and outlooks differed greatly leading them to become estranged. It will be very interesting to see where exactly these characters are and eventually see the battle between the pair that lead Dumbledore to come into possession of the Elder Wand!
