Kevin Feige Confirms Stan Lee Cameo Fan-Theory!

If there is one thing for certain through-out the MCU in recent years is that Stan Lee will appear in each movie in someway. The man is so versed in the art of cameos that its only a question of what his cameo will be the next time he appears on our screens.

For years fans of the MCU have been speculating that Stan Lee may in fact be playing the same character in each of his cameos and that he is in fact The Watchers or one of them at least. For years nothing was said about this and it wasn’t acknowledged, until not that is, as Marvel Studio President Kevin Feige has finally shed some light on it and it was all based around his cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.

This is what Feige has to say about the possibility of the fan theory being true:

“Yes, we always thought it would be fun. Stan Lee clearly exists, you know, above and apart from the reality of all the films. So the notion that he could be sitting there on a cosmic pit stop during the jump gate sequence in Guardians was something very fun – James had that idea and we shot that cameo and loved it so much, you know, you see it a couple of times in the movie.”

“It wasn’t in for a long time and we put it back in towards the end of the process where he references that time he was a Federal Express agent – we thought it would be fun to put that in there because that really says, so wait a minute, he’s this same character who’s popped up in all these films.”

The Guardians of the Galaxy sequel finally confirms to fans that Stan Lee has been playing the same character in every cameos in the MCU. His first appearance in Guardians Vol 2 is in a scene when Yondu, Rocket, and Kraglin are shown hopping through realms. One of the places they travel through sees Lee sitting with a group of Watchers as shares with them his tales from Earth. Then, in one of the film’s several post-credit scenes, Lee is shown talking still before the Watchers grow bored of the character. In this scene Lee makes direct reference to some of his cameos in the MCU confirming that he has in fact being playing the same character.

Fans can finally rejoice and relax, we finally have confirmation that Stan has been playing the same character in every movie. It’s a nice nod to give to the man that put Marvel on the map.

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.
