Fans of Netflix’s Daredevil series are in for a treat when it returns for season 3 as news has broken the big bad from season 1 is set to return, yes you read that correctly, Wilson Fisk is set to Hells Kitchen!
Marvel TV Chief and executive producer Jeph Loeb producer broke the news to Deadline he said: “Vincent is an exceptional actor who returns with the incredible gravitas he brings to Fisk,” He was of course talking about actor Vincent D’ Onofrio who plays crime boss Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin.
Wilson Fisk was the primary villain in the first season of Daredevil testing Matt Murdoch in more ways than one, and we also seen him mid way through season 2 when he interacted with Frank Castle aka The Punisher while they were both in prison.
As well as the news of Kingpin returning it was also announced that the 3rd season of the show will have a new show runner in Erik Oleson. “We’re very excited how Marvel’s Daredevil develops through the creative lens and guidance of our new showrunner, Erik Oleson,” Loeb said.
Oleson will be taking the helm of Daredevil from Season Two showrunners Marco Ramirez and Douglas Petrie, who also served as showrunners on the crossover series Marvel’s Defenders. Oleson, Loeb, Goddard, and Jim Chory will all serve as executive producers on Marvel’s Daredevil Season Three.
There is currently no release date set for Marvel’s Daredevil. Marvel’s The Punisher, a spinoff of Daredevil Season Two, will premiere on November 17, 2017. With further seasons of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage set to land next year, one would assume Daredevil Season 3 will land late next year or early 2019.
